At Motus Music, we prioritise fairness and transparency in our dealings with composers and rights holders. Many music publishers only conduct royalty calculations twice a year, which can result in a wait of 7 to 14 months after a broadcast before you receive your mechanical royalties.

When we launched, we recognised that since we receive mechanical royalties four times a year, it would only be fair for us to distribute payments to you at the same frequency. Therefore, we established a payment schedule that allows you to receive your royalties more frequently and faster—typically between 6 to 9 months after a broadcast—compared to traditional publishing deals. In fact, Motus Music pays out on average 3 months quicker than traditional publishers.

At Motus Music we believe in dealing fairly and transparently with composers and rights holders. When we launched, we decided that as we get paid mechanicals 4 time per year, that is only fair we pay out 4 times per year. As such we set up a payment schedule that mean you get paid more often and faster (between 6-9 months after broadcast) that via the traditional publishing deal.
