Audio & MEtadata Guidelines

Hi there! I’m Josh, and I’m excited to help you with our audio file and metadata requirements.

To make everything go smoothly, I’ve laid out all the important details below. By following these guidelines, we can keep things consistent and make the whole process easier for everyone. Plus, when you provide individual stems, we can whip up custom mixes whenever our clients ask for them!

FINAL AUDIO SPECIFICATION

Wav, 24 Bit, 48KHz, Stereo
Headroom for mastering 3dB

TRACK LENGTH

Duration for each track needs to be 2½ - 3½ minutes each.

ALTERNATIVE MIXES & CUTDOWNS

We do not require any 30/60 sec cut-downs

We do not require alternative mixes/underscores etc

STEMS

We require each instrument as a separate stem (same spec as the full mix)
Do not cut down the stems to remove silent parts - the timings of all the stems need to match.
Please do not group instruments into a single stem - exceptions will be made for things like SFX or similar instruments that do not overlap each other, please ask if in doubt.

FILENAMES

Unmastered full mix: Track Title – Composer Name(s).wav
e.g.
Happy Time – Joe Bloggs.wav

Stem filename: Track Title - Stem Name.wav
e.g.
Happy Time – Piano.wav
Happy Time – Violin 1.wav
Happy Time – Violin 2.wav
Happy Time – SFX.wav

METADATA

We require that you fill in a spreadsheet with some basic "factual" metadata, including composers' details, BPM, Key, time signature, and instruments. We will add moods, genres, descriptions, keywords etc when we release the album.

The current version of our metadata sheet can be downloaded here: Excel Template

Please do not change any formatting, add extra columns etc or unprotect the file.
